Gastroenterology and Hepatology

The DCRI GI and Hepatology faculty are diverse and accomplished physician-investigators, with over 250 clinical studies to their credit. In addition to their considerable expertise, DCRI GI and Hepatology researchers also can draw upon the DCRI hepatology database, consisting of more than 1500 patients from one center treated for chronic hepatitis C and with a full listing of demographics, treatment details, and various outcome variables. This database is linked to a serum and tissue repository of more than 20,000 samples.

The DCRI also is home to the Alliance for Liver Therapy, which combines the capabilities of the DCRI Hepatology faculty with those of other world-renowned researchers around the country, to conduct cutting-edge research on hepatitis and other liver diseases at study sites with proven track records.
