Discretionary Expenditures Guidance (5-21-09)
In conjunction with guidelines issued recently by the School of Medicine, the DCRI is issuing the attached policy memorandum from Dr. Harrington in regards to Discretionary Expenditures. The guidelines should be observed effectively immediately for all covered expenses going forward until further notice.

CMS Releases Revised Clinical Research Policy
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will require clinical trials to be registered on ClinicalTrials.gov before enrollment begins and a commitment is made to publish the study results in order to receive Medicare payment for certain trial items and services. [More info ... ] |

Faculty Development Program: Upcoming Events
The Faculty Development Program is a hub for faculty development initiatives within the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine. Our major initiatives include: grant writing workshops, professional development seminars, leadership development events, technical assistance with grant writing (in partnership with the Office of Research Administration), and institutional research focusing on equity and diversity. We also work to develop strategies to address the work/life balance needs of faculty. |

Faculty Education Modules
The web-based modules include 11 sections which can be completed individually or together. Each section includes a self-assessment, and the entire section (with the quiz) takes about 20 minutes to complete. |
