Duke University Digestive and Epidemiological Studies (DUDES)
is a network of gastroenterologists dedicated to conducting
clinical trials. DUDES traces its history to the early 1980s
when Malcolm Tyor, MD, Professor of Gastroenterology and Division
Chief at Duke University Medical Center, recognized that a
collaborative, “university without walls” approach to research
offered enormous potential. DUDES was created to link the
clinical research efforts of gastroenterologists in academic
and private practices both within and outside Duke. DUDES
is committed to the delivery of high-quality patient care
and to the development of new and innovative therapies in
gastroenterology.
